If you check the "stay logged in" checkbox, you won't have to sign in each time you come back when on this computer. Instead, you will be automatically logged in and taken directly to the schedule. The "stay logged in" feature lasts approximately thirty days (or until you either click the "Log Out" button or clear your browser's cookies).

Additionally, simply refreshing your window will log you in if you are timed out of the system after a period of inactivity. This means, for example, that you can go to the "Control Panel," walk away from your computer for a few hours, and simply click "refresh" when returning to begin working with the control panel again.

If you use a shared or public computer (such as in a computer lab or library), you should not check the "stay logged in" checkbox.

Welcome to the Writing Center at National University! To get started, register for an account by clicking the link to the left. Prior to your appointment time, be at your computer with your email open: you will receive an email with instructions for your online meeting. If you don't see an email from the Writing Center, be sure to check your junk folder in case the message was routed there. All times in the scheduler are Pacific time.

The goal of the Online Writing Center at National University is to help you improve your writing skills--whether you are a beginning student struggling with an idea for a class essay or a graduate student wrestling with complex arguments. We offer 25-minute online consultations about writing and critical thinking.

These consultations take the form of conversations on the topics you'd like to address: for example, developing a thesis statement, developing your ideas, organizing your argument, citing sources, or working on mechanics. Please note, however, that we will not "fix" your paper for you: we are here to provide you with the tools to improve your own writing. We are not editors, but teachers.
